The WTP Loose ring bit offers riders all of the benefits of the loose ring tongue plate bit but with added poll leverage when the rein is fitted to the fixed rein position on the bit for a stronger action on the horses mouth to reinforce the riders desire for better control. There is no other bit designer that has been able to achieve a more comfortable solution to providing comfortable tongue pressure as opposed to tongue relief to remove objections from the horse that has a sensitive tongue. The WTP plate prevents bit pinching and reduces tongue pressure by 85% proven under engineering conditions.
The bit arms have limited travel reducing outer ring pressure preventing pain to the cheeks and lips by reducing the nut cracker action of the traditional snaffle which is an important improvement and competes with the lock up design found in other bits. The bit design geometry is angled to remove any pain to the roof, tongue and bars of the horses mouth during active rein take up and removing any chance of soft palate displacement.
The bit is suitable for horses doing fast work, cross country or showjumping, and particularly offers lady riders working big horses more rein pressure availability or where a rider has weak hands better control or lighter control aided by the fixed rein position design, alternatively the bit can be used using the larger ring for a less severe bit without the leverage option giving the rider two levels of control pressure to try.
Horses that are prone to putting the tongue over the bit often settle and accept the tongue plate better than conventional lozenges with links, or single joints that may pinch the tongue. Horses with sensitive tongues that dislike tongue pressure are often better suited to this design than providing tongue relief which should be reserved for horses with larger tongues and less room in the mouth.
The results using this bit brings involve better movement through the shoulder and the hind leg swinging through further to aid the rider achieve better carriage of the horse in a more relaxed outline improving performance outcomes.
