Sprenger Novocontact Pelham has a double joint with a lozenge designed to break the nutcracker action of the mouth piece. As the rider takes up the rein each side of the bit acts with a greater wrapping effect which is created by the central lozenge ensuring more precise and effective communication. The Novocontact double jointed pelham profile, provides the horse with a mouthpiece with a greater surface area due to its 16mm thickness which reduces pressure for a more relaxed horse with greater acceptance of the bit especially when bridled up and this improves the interaction between horse and rider for a better contact and acceptance of the bit. The option of attaching a curb chain allows the rider to balance bit pressure by moving some pressure to the lower jaw.The bit can be used with either two reins or one rein using Pelham roundings.

  • Novocontact double jointed Pelham is developed using the latest scientific research and depending on your requirements they are suitable for every type of horse.
  • Successfully tested and approved by professional and leisure riders.
  • Oval shape enlarges the contact surface on the tongue for a soft influence.
  • Designed for horses that occasionally pull against the hand but are too sensitive for stronger bits.
  • Enables precise and effective rein aids due to acting on tongue, poll and lower jaw.
  • The leverage effect on the poll can be varied by different rein options.
  • Optimal utilisation of the limited space in the horses mouth
  • Thickness: 16mm
  • Lower Cheek: 4.5cm
  • Please pay attention to the correct position of the arrow, which must point forward on the left hand

Material: SENSOGAN with stainless steel rings / cheeks

SENSOGAN: Alloy of copper, manganese and zinc. Manganese hardens the copper without influencing the natural oxidation process of it. Due to the manganese, the alloy gets by with less copper content but achieves an equivalent oxidation behaviour as AURIGAN.
