Prolite® Adjustable Front & Rear Shim Saddle Pad

The Prolite® Adjustable Front & Rear Shim Saddle Pad is designed to provide temporary saddle-fit alterations where minor adjustments are required to improve saddle balance.

Each pad is supplied with one set of thick shims and one set of thin shims, allowing you to tailor the amount of lift required. Additional thick and thin shim sets are available separately for further adjustment where necessary.

This versatile saddle pad features Prolite® inserts that can be added or removed from the front or rear pockets to alter the balance of the saddle.

If the saddle sits too low at the front, the cantle will rise and wither clearance is often reduced. Fitting the front shims helps restore the saddle to a more level position. In many cases, using the thick front shims can effectively reduce the functional width of the saddle by up to one fitting width, helping to prevent the saddle dropping onto the withers—provided sufficient padding is used and the adjustment is appropriate.

If the saddle sits too low at the rear, inserting shims into the rear pockets raises the back of the saddle, improving overall balance and helping to reduce excessive pressure beneath the rear panels.

When no adjustment is required, simply remove all of the inserts and use the pad as a standard Prolite® Relief Pad.
