Rein contact comes in many forms and ideally the rider is looking to maintain a soft contact which can only be achieved if the rein is easy to hold, otherwise the hand needs to tighten which brings with it a stiffening of the riders arm creating tension, and this is communicated through the rein to the horse who may respond by becoming more tense.
These reins are made from imported leather with a material called sure-grip to ensure a secure contact. Prevents slipping even when the reins get wet.
