As rein pressure increases, the joint reaches a predetermined point where it locks, limiting further collapse of the mouthpiece.

Blue Sweet Iron Mouthpiece

Bombers Bits are manufactured from Blue Sweet Iron, which naturally oxidises when exposed to moisture. This creates the distinctive blue-grey finish and produces a sweet-tasting surface that encourages many horses to salivate, supporting relaxation and acceptance of the bit.

The blue finish will gradually wear with use as the mouthpiece develops its natural patina. This is an expected characteristic of Blue Sweet Iron and does not affect the bit's performance.
